France’s first fund to develop the tourism sector

AMPERE Gestion has been entrusted with managing the fund to develop the tourism sector created in 2016 by Caisse des Dépôts and Foncière des Régions.

Caisse des Dépôts and Foncière des Régions – via its subsidiary Foncière des Murs – have come together to set up a joint investment fund to upgrade France’s tourism infrastructure by investing in hotels, tourist accommodation and holiday resorts. It will invest in major development and renovation ventures in both coastal and mountain tourist areas in mainland France and channel funds into projects designed to boost the tourist accommodation offering.

Fund management (investor contact, accounting, reporting, etc.) has been entrusted to AMPERE Gestion.

Investment target: €1 billion

The fund has a targeted investment capacity of €1 billion (comprising 50% equity and 50% debt) which would enable it to invest in around 20 tourism facilities. A first €100 million round of financing closed in July 2016 and the fund – which is open to other potential investors – is aiming to raise a total amount of equity of €500 million.

The fund carried out its first investment operation in October 2016.
